A hotel come art exhibition built from none other than ice from the “Torne älv”. Each spring these winter suites melt back into the river and are reincarnated into a brand-new design every winter. There is, however, a part of the hotel that stands all year round allowing visitors to experience the ice hotel when it suites them.
Rooms in the hotel come in all forms from a basic double room, to an art suite that includes ice sculptures hand-carved by world-renowned artists. Guests can choose from one of the art, ice, snow, or northern lights rooms depending on how you want to spend your stay.
Artists come from all over to individually design and sculpt these themed suites. Each suite is unique and has never been created before.
The hotels standard room of ice décor and a bed made of ice, was designed to "create a feeling of being embraced and protected by the ice” - Johan Larsson, the artist of the standard ice rooms.
There are several activities for when you’re done being mesmerized by the accommodation. Guests can spend their days going on sled tours, feed reindeers, or cuddling up by the hotel's open fire ready to watch the Northern Lights.
If staying the night is not on the cards, visitors can also get a guided tour of the hotel which is also one of Sweden’s largest and most unique private art exhibitions.
