Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden 

Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden is perhaps the most renown instagram spot in Oahu and a must visit for every explorer. Adventure around these magical gardens and become wanderlust in search of the perfect spot. The road you see in the picture above is an all time favourite and has been host to some of the most popular captures every on Instagram. As with many places on this island, the weather can change dramatically, so make sure you make the most of any 'clear' moment. 

Tantalus Lookout

A popular hangout spot to escape from the real world, this lookout has insane views of the city of Honolulu and the shoreline. With a huge lawn, you can take a picnic basket and rug and watch the sunset. The great part is that the Tantalus Lookout security only closes the gates just after sunset allowing you to enjoy every second of the experience. The road leading up to the lookout spot is a beautiful winding drive through the lush suburb of Manoa. This route is loads of fun and you might be lucky enough to spot a rainbow n your way up. It is recommended to bring a warm jacket as the weather is pretty unpredictable and can get a bit chilly on the top of the hill.

Banzai Pipeline

This famous surfing location is located by the North Shore of Oahu, hosting one of the best surf spots on the island. The massive waves barrel onto the shoreline and at times can be quite intense to jump into, so be aware. The winter swells that roll into this part of the shore creates some of the best picture-perfect waves. Hundreds of surfers from around the world fly into Oahu for their chance to surf this famous wave. Home to the Pipeline Masters Surf Contest that is attended by the best and bravest surfers from all over the world.

Makapu'u Tidepools

This is the ideal place to float around, located right below the Makapu'u Lighthouse. These tidal pools are the perfect place to cool off after a long hike. Locally known as 'Maks", this is where you'll find the best photo opportunity, from the beach to the lighthouse.

Koko Head Summit

Head up the wooden tracks of the Koko Head Crater. With more than 1000 steps you will be greatly rewarded with the view once you reach the top. During World War II the Koko Railway was built to deliver supplies to several bunkers that were at the summit of the crater. Now stairs, one can hike this 7-mile route and is the best place to watch the sunrise ( that's if you make it to the top in time!)
